From the provenance research into the period 1933-1945, indications have emerged that suggest possible involuntary loss of ownership.

The provenance is not complete. At present, there are no leads for doing further research into the provenance of this object for the period from 1933 to 1945. It is unknown how, when and under what circumstances auction house Lempertz acquired this object in the Netherlands during the war.
