Research findings
When or from whom Goudstikker/Miedl art gallery acquired this painting is no longer known.
J. Goudstikker art gallery acquired this painting in 1943 when it was being run by Alois Miedl. Miedl took the gallery over when Jacques Goudstikker, a Jew, fled the country in 1940. This seems not to have belonged to Jacques Goudstikker's prewar collection. From whom Miedl acquired the work is no longer known.
Het is niet bekend wanneer en van wie kunsthandel Goudstikker/Miedl het schilderij heeft verworven. [nl]
Het schilderij is in 1943 verworven door Kunsthandel J. Goudstikker die op dat moment onder leiding van Alois Miedl stond. Miedl nam de kunsthandel over nadat de joodse Jacques Goudstikker in 1940 het land ontvluchtte. Dit schilderij lijkt niet te hebben behoord tot de vooroorlogse collectie van Jacques Goudstikker zelf. Van wie Miedl dit schilderij wel heeft verworven is niet duidelijk. [nl]
