Research findings

This drawing is part of the collection confiscated from Mr and Mrs May-Fuld, a Jewish couple.

Like the drawing by Paulus Constantijn la Fargue, this painting is from the collection of Siegfried Paul Daniël May and his wife Rosine Mariane May-Fuld. The Germans confiscated their collection after the couple committed suicide in May 1940 and sold it at Frederik Muller's auction house in Amsterdam at sales on 14 -17 October and 2-5 December 1941. The museum is in contact with the heirs.
Het schilderij behoorde tot de geconfisqueerde collectie van het joodse echtpaar May-Fuld. [nl]

Dit schilderij is, evenals de tekening van Paulus Constantijn la Fargue, afkomstig uit de verzameling van Siegfried Paul Daniël May en zijn echtgenote Rosine Mariane May-Fuld. Hun collectie is door de Duitsers geconfisqueerd na hun zelfmoord in mei 1940 en bij het Amsterdamse veilinghuis Frederik Muller verkocht in de veilingen van 14-17 oktober en 2-5 december 1941. Door het museum is contact opgenomen met de erven. [nl]
