Research findings

Who owned this painting before it passed to Nederlands Beheersinstituut in The Hague is not known.

This painting was probably confiscated after the war from collaborators or from Germans posted in the Netherlands. The relevant dossiers were consulted at Nationaal Archief, where NBI's archive is kept, in coordination with Bureau Herkomst Gezocht to find out where the work came from. However, no new information was found.
Het is onbekend wie de eigenaar van het schilderij was voordat het bij het Nederlands Beheersinstituut te Den Haag in beheer kwam. [nl]

Vermoedelijk is dit kunstwerk na de oorlog in beslag genomen bij collaborateurs of bij in Nederland woonachtige Duitsers. In overleg met Bureau Herkomst Gezocht zijn in het Nationaal Archief, waar het archief van het NBI zich bevindt, de in aanmerking komende dossiers doorgenomen om te achterhalen uit wiens collectie dit werk oorspronkelijk afkomstig was. Dit leverde echter geen resultaat op. [nl]
