No information is available about who the Jewish owner was who entrusted these forks for safekeeping in Buren.

It was the great-grandmother of the person who gave the forks to the museum who acquired them during the Second World War. She lived in Buren and received the forks from a Jewish woman in exchange for food. The great-grandmother promised to keep the forks for the woman to collect after the war. That never happened. They were given to the museum after the war.
Het is niet bekend wie de joodse eigenaar was die de vorken in Buren in bewaring gaf. [nl]

De vorken zijn in de Tweede Wereldoorlog in het bezit gekomen van de overgrootmoeder van de schenkster, die in Buren woonde. Zij kreeg ze van een joodse vrouw in ruil voor eten. De overgrootmoeder beloofde de vorken te zullen bewaren zodat de vrouw ze na de oorlog weer kon ophalen. Dit is nooit gebeurd. Ze werden na de oorlog aan het museum overgedragen. [nl]
