Who owned this tapestry before it was acquired by Rijksbureau voor Kunsthistorische Documentatie is no longer known.

During the war, the tapestry was kept in the safe at Rijksbureau voor Kunsthistorische Documentatie (Netherlands Institute for Art History) in The Hague. It is unclear who the owner was and why it was kept there. Dr H. Gerson, who worked at RKD at the time, gave permission for the tapestry to be hung elsewhere. It was included in the Museum Acquisitions 1940-1948 report (Amsterdam 1999).
Het is niet bekend aan wie dit wandtapijt toebehoorde voordat het in beheer kwam bij het Rijksbureau voor Kunsthistorische Documentatie. [nl]

Tijdens de oorlogsjaren lag dit tapijt in de kluis van het Rijksbureau voor Kunsthistorische Documentatie te Den Haag. Het is onduidelijk wie de eigenaar was en waarom het tapijt in het Rijksbureau was ondergebracht. Dr. H. Gerson destijds werkzaam bij het RKD gaf toestemming om het wandtapijt elders te hangen. Dit tapijt werd opgenomen in het rapport Museale Verwervingen 1940-1948, Amsterdam 1999. [nl]
