This painting was part of the prewar collection of Jewish art dealer Jacques Goudstikker.
This painting was part of art dealer Jacques Goudstikker's collection at the outbreak of the Second World War and after he fled it came into the possession of Alois Miedl, who took over the art gallery. The painting was auctioned on 8 and 9 October 1940 by Frederik Muller. Goudstikker died in an accident while fleeing the country on 16 May 1940. The museum is in contact with the heirs.
