This painting was part of art dealer Jacques Goudstikker's collection at the outbreak of the Second World War and after he fled it came into the possession of Alois Miedl, who took over the art gallery. The painting was auctioned on 8 and 9 October 1940 by Frederik Muller. Goudstikker died in an accident while fleeing the country on 16 May 1940. The museum is in contact with the heirs. [en]

Het schilderij behoorde tot de collectie van kunsthandelaar Jacques Goudstikker. Het was bij het uitbreken van de Tweede Wereldoorlog in Goudstikkers bezit en werd door Alois Miedl, die de kunsthandel na Goudstikkers vlucht overnam, op de veiling ingebracht bij Frederik Muller van 8 en 9 oktober 1940. Goudstikker kwam tijdens zijn vlucht op 16 mei 1940 door een ongeval om het leven. Er is contact opgenomen met de erven.
