During the Second World War, the theft of Jewish ritual objects was widespread. Because so little is known about the object's origins, its provenance may very well be problematic.
Het is niet bekend aan wie dit joodse rituele object toebehoorde voordat het in het Zuiderzeemuseum terechtkwam. [nl]

Joodse rituele objecten werden op grote schaal geroofd tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog. Omdat zo weinig bekend is over de herkomstgeschiedenis, kan niet worden uitgesloten dat ook hier sprake is van een problematische herkomst. [nl]
